This painting is inspired by Greek Orthodox icons. Made with non-traditional materials. I'm very attracted to the rigid rules by which icons are made. It's 15" x 8". It has real gold leaf that I've been playing with. There are silk-screened electronic elements as well.
I like saints because I can't help but humanize them. I wonder if some are saints because they're dead and the people just needed a new saint to believe in? Maybe they're looking down horrified that everyone has missed the point of their life.
